Engine oil FAQ

How often should I change my engine oil?+

Follow your owner's manual first. If you're not sure, our stores use these guidelines: about every 10,000 km for full synthetic, 7,000 km for semi-synthetic and 5,000 km for mineral oil, or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Each card shows the change interval. If your manual says sooner, follow the manual.

What's the difference between full synthetic, semi-synthetic and mineral oil?+

The base oil. Full synthetic uses synthetic base oil that handles heat and keeps its viscosity well, so it lasts longer between changes. Semi-synthetic blends synthetic and mineral base oils. Mineral oil costs less but should be changed more often.

What do 0W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-40 mean?+

They are SAE viscosity grades. The number before the W shows how the oil flows when the engine is cold (lower flows faster at start-up). The number after shows its thickness at operating temperature. Use the grade in your owner's manual — you can filter by viscosity above.

Does the price include labor?+

Yes. Engine oil prices include the oil change at any of our 5 Subphaisal stores. Choose a store and date at checkout.

Is shipping free?+

Yes. Free shipping nationwide at the same price, delivered in 2–7 days with a tracking number on your order page.

Do gasoline and diesel engines need different oil?+

Yes. Diesel engine oils are formulated for the soot and loads of diesel engines, while gasoline oils meet gasoline engine standards. Some oils are rated for both. Follow your owner's manual and use the Gasoline / Diesel filter above.

How many liters do I need?+

It depends on your engine. Check your owner's manual or ask a store before ordering. If your engine needs more than one pack, add a 1 L bottle.

Do you sell gear oil, coolant and brake fluid?+

Yes. Choose Gear oil (GL-5, ATF and CVT), Coolant, Brake fluid or Distilled water from the category bar above. Free shipping nationwide, or pick up in store. Use the type your owner's manual specifies.
