What is API SN?
API SN is the API gasoline engine oil spec introduced in 2010, focused on high-temperature deposit and sludge control. It replaces API SM and older specs. If your manual calls for API SP or newer, choose an oil with that rating.
What is Catch-Control-Clean?
It is Castrol GTX's technology. The maker says it catches dirt and sludge, keeps it from sticking to engine surfaces, and removes it with the old oil at the next change.
How is GTX 10W-40 different from MAGNATEC 10W-40?
Both are semi-synthetic 10W-40 oils. GTX 10W-40 is rated API SN and focuses on Catch-Control-Clean sludge protection; MAGNATEC 10W-40 is rated API SP and focuses on Clings-Locks-Protects start-up wear protection.
